H.E. the President of King Abdulaziz University, Dr. Tareef bin Youssef Alaama, honored the University’s female students in recognition of their outstanding performance and third-place achievement in the International Commercial Arbitration Competition. The ceremony took place on Thursday, 26 February 2026, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Sultan Abu Al-Ala, and the Vice Dean of the female section, Dr. Njoud Bafarat.

The team secured third place amid competition from 180 teams representing universities in 25 countries. The competition brings together students from faculties of Sharia (Islamic jurisprudence), law, and legal studies, where participants present arguments in a simulated arbitration case reflecting real international trade disputes. It aims to develop the legal and personal skills required to appear before international arbitration panels, while enhancing participants’ legal knowledge, analytical abilities, and professional competence.

The third-place team comprised Rana Ibrahim Al-Silani, Taif Al-Otaibi, Amna Mohammed Hareesh, Raghad Ibrahim Al-Harbi, Mashael Khalil Al-Ghamdi, and Nesreen Adel Al-Qurashi.

The team was supervised by Dr. Raghda Mohammed Al-Aql, Dr. Abdullah Omar Al-Khuli and Dr. Abdullah Al-Hussein.

This achievement reflects the University’s commitment to excellence in education, enhancing academic outcomes, empowering graduates with high-quality professional competencies, strengthening competitiveness in the labor market, and further developing students’ legal and personal skills.
